Show off your crochet confidence and make a garment! Choose from three patterns perfect for crocheters ready to craft a closet staple. In this class, you’ll get the guidance to decode the pattern, get started, and determine the fit you need and strategies to complete and finish your project. Pattern options include a vest, a 3-season t-shirt and a cardigan.

Three 2-hour sessions that meet on the same day each week.

Skills needed:

  • Chaining and Single Crochet

Materials:

  • Aran weight yarn XS-876(S-930, M-1020, L-1095, XL -1120, XXL – 1250) yards. We recommend Wooldreamers Mota, De Rerum Natura Gilliatt, Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino, or Manos Del Uruguay Ideal.

  • Size US G (4.00mm) crochet hook, or size to meet gauge
  • Size US H (5.00mm) crochet hook or size to meet gauge
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle
  • An assortment of locking stitch markers
  • Measuring tape
  • A purchased copy of the pattern Vest No. 44 pattern

Preparation:

Make a 5”X 5”gauge swatch in moss stitch as explained in the pattern. Wash and block the swatch, referring to the care instructions on the yarn label.

Intermediate: Perfect Crochet T-Shirt

  • Size US F(3.75 mm) crochet hook, or size needed to meet gauge

  • An assortment of locking stitch markers

  • Row counter

  • Tapestry needle

  • A purchased copy of the Perfect Crochet T-Shirt pattern

  • DK, Worsted or Bulky weight in these approximate yardages:
    • DK: 1500 (2100, 2400, 3000, 3600) yards. Kelbourne Woolens Scout, Mrs. Moon Plump DK, Manos del Uruguay Sami and Marla.
    • Worsted: 1200 (1600, 2100, 2400, 2600) yards. Blue Sky Fibers Woolstock, Wooldreamers Mota, Manos del Uruguay Ideal.
    • Bulky: 840 (1080, 1320, 1440, 1620) yards. Woolfolk Luft, De Rerum Natura Cyrano, Manos del Uruguay Cardo.

No preparation needed. We’ll begin by creating a gauge swatch in the hexagon motif pattern to confirm yarn quantities.

Craft: Crochet
